FAQ's
For first-time visitorsWhere are you?
We are located at 147th St. in Orland Park, Illinois. Click here for a map/directions.
What time should I arrive?
Our services begin promptly at 9:30 am and 5:00 pm, so plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Additionally, on the first Sunday evening of the month, we have a hymn sing at 4:50 pm.
Is your building accessible?
Yes, at the south entrance (i.e., inside the parking lot) there are no stairs.
What is the service like?
Our worship service consists of singing Psalms and Hymns accompanied by piano or organ, the reading and preaching of scripture, the offering of prayers, and observance of the sacra- ments. The service lasts about 70 minutes.
What should I wear?
This is where most modern churches say, “Wear whatever you want! We just want you to be comfortable!” We want you to be comfortable too, so you should probably know that our members tend to wear their “Sunday best” because they regard worship as a special event.
Who will be there?
Our average attendance averages 120 in the morning and 90 in the evening, and we have a pretty good balance between young and old, rich and poor, etc. The members also come from a variety of church backgrounds (i.e., Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc.). By the way, there are usually plenty of children present. Which leads to this question:
Is there child care?
There is a nursery for children under age 3 and an adjacent nursing room, but we do not provide a “nursery service” or “children’s church” because we prefer to worship God together as families. But don’t worry. If you have your hands full and need some help, one of our young ladies will be happy to give you a hand.
